Katy Young Artist Contest
The Katy Young Artist Contest began in 2018 as an opportunity for the most outstanding student performers in Katy ISD to participate in a state-level solo and ensemble contest without having to travel outside of Katy. Since then, the contest has grown significantly, reaching nearly 350 entries by 2024.
Students who qualify for state-level solo and ensemble contests through their participation and success in region-level UIL Solo and Ensemble contests are eligible to participate in KYAC.
KYAC culminates with an Outstanding Performers Recital. Each KYAC judge has the opportunity to select one outstanding solo or ensemble performance from their room, and those students are invited to perform in front of an audience at the Outstanding Performers Recital.
