2025 Cheer and Mascot Tryouts at Jordan High School
Get ready to showcase your school spirit! Jordan High School will hold its 2025 Cheer and Mascot tryouts this spring. If you are interested in joining the JHS Cheerleading team or becoming the school mascot, here’s what you need to know:
Mandatory Parent/Guardian Meeting:
- When: February 25 at 6:30 PM
- Where: JHS Small Cafeteria
Both the candidate and a parent or guardian must attend this meeting to be eligible for tryouts.
Tryout Clinics:
Candidates will have the opportunity to prepare for tryouts during clinics held over three days.- Dates: March 17–19
- Time: 4:30–6:30 PM
- Where: JHS Main Gym
Tryouts:

Algebra II Notification
Senate Bill 232 requires parents/guardians of all enrolled high school students to be notified that Algebra II is not a required credit for graduation and define the ramifications of not earning Algebra II credit. Graduation requirements for the Foundation High School Program + Endorsement (FHSPE) include four math credits, which must include Algebra I and Geometry credits, and two additional math credits. Algebra II is not specified as a graduation requirement; however, students who do not earn Algebra II credit are not eligible for:
- Earning the Distinguished Level of Achievement (DLA), which requires completion of an endorsement with Algebra II among the four math credits,
- Recognition as an honors or high honors graduate,
- Automatic admission to a state public college or university, and
- Certain financial aid opportunities, including the TEXAS grant or the Texas Educational Opportunity Grant.

DISTRICT SAFETY & SECURITY ADVISORY BOARD MEETINGS

Location: Educational Support Center (ESC), 6301 S. Stadium Ln. Katy, TX 77494The board's mission which consists of students from each high school, Junior High, and Elementary, along with PTA representation, outside community emergency response agencies, and district staff, is to inform and advise District Leadership on safety and security issues impacting students, teachers, staff, and the entire school district community.
The Board meets quarterly to discuss an array of topics from Mental Health, Bus Safety, Pedestrian Safety, Bullying, Cyberbullying, Human Trafficking, and ongoing safety initiatives.
This meeting is open to the public. AQR cade is provided for the audience to submit any questions they may have.
This is to maintain the Board Discussion on the logic and meeting the intent of garnering all the district's community perspectives in the time allotted.

In accordance with Texas House Bill 1525 (HB 1525), Katy ISD is required to provide instruction relating to human growth and development. Katy ISD, with guidance from the School Health Advisory Council (SHAC), has approved the curriculum that will be used to teach this topic and has determined the grade level(s) that will receive instruction on this topic. All lessons are aligned with the TEKS and meet the requirements mandated by the state.Under Texas statute, parents must give their consent, allowing their child to participate in the lessons that address human growth and development. The deadline to give consent is March 7, 2025.

Students enrolled in high school health will receive instruction in Human Growth and Development, Abuse, and Violence Prevention during the sixth six weeks for students earning credit during the Spring semester. Topics will include the physical changes resulting from puberty, as well as personal hygiene, abuse, abstinence, prevention of sexually transmitted diseases, dating violence, family violence and child abuse. All lessons and topics are aligned to the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) and meet requirements mandated by the state.
Under Texas statute, parents must give their consent to allow their child to participate in the lessons that address Human Growth and Development, Abuse and Violence Prevention. Parents have the right to review the curriculum materials and will be provided access during the parent consent window.

2025-2026 COURSE SELECTION IS OPEN!
The SchooLinks Course Selection Window is OPEN! Current 5th through 11th grade students will select their 2025 summer semester courses and courses for the upcoming school year. After making their selections, Parents will approve students’ courses by logging into MyKatyCloud and clicking on the SchooLinks Tile to review and approve their child’s personalized plan.

HOME ACCESS CENTER (HAC) - GUARDIAN & STUDENT ACCESS
For security purposes, on January 15, 2025, you will be required to login to MyKaty Cloud (MKC) to access Home Access Center (HAC). This new step will require you to set up Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) and will only apply to guardians or students that have never logged into MKC. For help with MFA setup, please go to this article.
You will use the same username and password credentials in MyKaty Cloud (MKC) that you currently enter for HAC. Katy ISD encourages you to log into MyKaty Cloud (MKC) to access HAC now.
