Katy ISD Athletic Media Plan
All media requests will be evaluated by the Athletic Department Staff. It is the expectation of the Katy ISD Athletic Department that members of the media to cover our programs and/or teams cover all programs and/or teams across the district.
Approved Media –
- Broadcast, National Digital Media, & Print Media. All of these organizations have editorial oversight.
- Houston Chronicle, Katy Times, Houston Defender, Vype, Lethal Enforcer, Broadcast affiliates - CBS, ABC, NBC, FOX, Tube, H-Town Sports, Texan Live, etc.
- Local media from visiting teams coming to cover the games in our facility.
- Campus & Booster Media.
- Yearbook, Journalism, Videographers from the school educational programs.
Non-Approved Media –
- Recruiting Services, Social Media Accounts
Anyone not receiving sideline access can still purchase a ticket and sit in the stands to cover the game. They can use photo/video equipment from the stands provided it meets all venue requirements.
Live Stream – Audio or Video
The right to Live Video Stream Katy ISD games has been granted exclusively to Texan Live. No live video streams will be permitted. Permission to Audio Stream Katy ISD games must be received in advance from both teams and the Katy ISD Athletic Department.
Varsity Football – Legacy & Rhodes Stadiums
All media access requests must be submitted to Katy ISD on the Media Request Form by 12:00 p.m. on the Wednesday prior to the scheduled event. Press Box and field level access for all KISD athletic contests will be handled by Kyle Green (kylegreen@katyisd.org). We ask all the media to park on the west side of the stadium.
Rhodes Stadium – Show your media credentials to the workers at the NW Ticket Booth. You will receive your media credentials prior to entering the gate.
Legacy Stadium – Show your media credentials to the workers at the West Ticket Booth. You will receive your media credentials prior to entering the gate.
Interviews - Any interview with the Head Coach or players of either team will take place after the game. Coaches and players will be given a chance to clear the field and enter the locker rooms prior to interviews. If you wish to speak with the Head Coach or any of the players, coordinate your request through one of the Assistant A.D.’s at the conclusion of the game. All interviews should be limited to 15 minutes or less.
School Yearbook/Journalism – school-based media should have a Yearbook or Journalism ID badge always displayed.
Sidelines - All media will remain outside the team areas during the game. The team area is the area between the 25-year lines.
Press Box – Within this area, we have areas dedicated to radio, a general media area, and a room for scouts.
