Katy ISD Athletic Media Plan

  • All media requests will be evaluated by the Athletic Department Staff.  It is the expectation of the Katy ISD Athletic Department that members of the media to cover our programs and/or teams cover all programs and/or teams across the district.  Only those reporters from media outlets who either mass produce in print or digital, provide a televised broadcast or livestream via a radio channel will be granted access to the playing surface and/or press box.

Live Stream – Audio or Video

The right to Live Video Stream Katy ISD games has been granted exclusively to Texan Live.  No live video streams will be permitted.  Permission to Audio Stream Katy ISD games must be received in advance from both teams and the Katy ISD Athletic Department.

Varsity Football – Legacy & Rhodes Stadiums

All media access requests must be submitted to Katy ISD on the Media Request Form by 12:00 p.m. on the Wednesday prior to the scheduled event.  Press Box and field level access for all KISD athletic contests will be handled by Kyle Green (kylegreen@katyisd.org).  We ask all the media to park on the west side of the stadium.

Rhodes Stadium – Show your media credentials to the workers at the NW Gate.  You will proceed down the ramp to the Field House.  You will check in at the Media Room and be given your Media Pass.

Legacy Stadium – Show your media credentials to the workers at the West Ticket Booth.  You will proceed to the NW elevator entrance on the concourse level.  You will check in at the Elevator Lobby and be given your Media Pass.

Interviews - Any interview with the Head Coach or players of either team will take place after the game.  Coaches and players will be given a chance to clear the field and enter the locker rooms prior to interviews.  If you wish to speak with the Head Coach or any of the players, coordinate your request through one of the Assistant A.D.’s at the conclusion of the game.  All interviews should be limited to 15 minutes or less.

School Yearbook/Journalism – school-based media should have a Yearbook or Journalism ID badge displayed at all times.  Students will enter the stadium and report to the Media Table and will be directed to the field.

Sidelines - All media will remain outside the team areas during the game.  The team area is the area between the 25-year lines.

Press Box – Within this area, we have areas dedicated to radio, a general media area, and a room for scouts.
