  • Katy ISD annually reviews its attendance boundaries to ensure the District is adequately addressing its fast growth, as well as student and staff capacity on campuses. Balancing school enrollment across campuses is essential to ensuring that each of our students has access to safe and engaging learning environments.  

    What is an Attendance Boundary Modification (ABM)?
    Attendance Boundary Modifications (ABMs) help the District to manage growth in Katy ISD. As the District's enrollment increases, it becomes necessary to adjust boundaries and open new schools. ABMs enable the District to balance student enrollment at each school.

    Where is Elementary #44 located?
    Elementary #44 is located in the northwest quadrant of the District. The address is 7400 Innovation Drive​, Katy 77493.

    When does Elementary #44 open?
    Elementary #44 will open August 17, 2022 for the 2022-23 school year.

    What existing campuses will see enrollment relief due to the opening of Elementary #44?
    Elementary #44 will provide enrollment relief for Bryant Elementary.

    LUZs approved to be rezoned from PHS to Morton Ranch High School 12B 13A ​13B

    Which PHS grade levels in LUZs 12B, 13A and 13B be rezoned to MRHS for the 2022-23 school year?
    Only incoming 9th grade students who reside in LUZs 12B, 13A and 13B would be rezoned to MRHS beginning with the 2022-23 school year.

    Would students who will be in grades 10th, 11th and 12th in 2022-23 and reside in LUZ 12B, 13A and 13B also be rezoned to MRHS?
    No.  These students may remain at PHS through their graduation. 

    Would incoming 9th grade students residing in LUZ 12B, 13A, 13B and rezoned to Morton Ranch High School be able to request a transfer to Paetow High School if an older sibling currently attends Paetow High School?
    Yes​.  Incoming 9th grade students who reside in LUZ 12B, 13A and 13B would be able to request a transfer to attend Paetow High School through graduation if an older sibling(s) is enrolled and attending Paetow High School for the 2022-2023 school year. 

    Would students in grades 10, 11 and 12 who reside in LUZ 12B, 13A and 13B be able to request a transfer to attend Morton Ranch High School through graduation?  
    Yes.  Students currently attending Paetow High School and residing in LUZ 12B, 13A and 13B would be able to request a transfer to attend Morton Ranch High School through graduation beginning with the 2022-2023 school year.

    When would the Student Transfer Application link for students residing in LUZ 12B, 13A and 13B be available? 
    The Student Transfer Application link will be available beginning on Monday, November 1, 2021 at 9:00 a.m. and will close at 11:59 p.m. on Monday, January 10, 2022.  

    Where will the Student Transfer Application Link be located?
    The Student Transfer application link will be located on the Katy ISD website homepage, under the “Parents” navigation. From the “Parents” dropdown menu, select “Student Transfers.”  The Student Transfer Application link will be on the right-hand side of the Student Transfers web page. The link opens on November 1, 2021 at 9:00 a.m.​

    Transportation ABM Information

    Would transportation be provided for students living in LUZ 12B, 13A and 13B to Morton Ranch High School and Paetow High School for the 2022-2023 school year?
    Yes.  Transportation will be provided for incoming 9th grade students rezoned to Morton Ranch High School. Transportation will also continue to be provided for 10th, 11th and 12th grade students attending Paetow High School through graduation.  Students must qualify as ELIGIBLE according to Katy ISD Transportation Eligibility guidelines​

    Athletics ABM Information

    Would my incoming 9th grade student who is rezoned to Morton Ranch High School, but approved for a sibling transfer to remain at Paetow High School, be required to submit any UIL-related eligibility forms for varsity athletic participation? 
    An incoming 9th grade student residing outside the Paetow High School attendance zone would need to complete a PAPF eligibility form and may require a waiver of the UIL Parent Residence Rule in order to participate at the varsity level. ​

    Would my 10th, 11th and 12th grade students who may elect to attend Morton Ranch High School through graduation be required to submit any UIL-related eligibility forms for varsity athletic participation?
    No.  Students who are enrolled and attend their zoned campus per the approved Attendance Boundary Modification (ABM) are eligible for varsity participation at their rezoned high school.

    If my incoming 9th grade student elects to attend Paetow High School on an approved sibling transfer, but then later decides to attend Morton Ranch High School, could this impact varsity eligibility?  
    Parents of students electing to remain at Paetow High School on a sibling transfer and then deciding later to revoke the transfer and enroll at Morton Ranch High School are encouraged to contact Assistant Athletic Director, Pat Dowling.

    Fine Arts ABM Info​​rmation

    Would my incoming 9th grade student who is rezoned to Morton Ranch High School and elects to request a sibling transfer to remain at Paetow High School through graduation be able to try-out for a cheerleading or dance team?
    Yes.  Incoming 9th grade students electing to attend Paetow High School on an approved sibling transfer may apply for the transfer beginning on Monday, November 1, 2021 through Monday, January 10, 2022.  Upon approval of the transfer request, parents and students may contact the Paetow High School Cheer & Dance Director for additional information.
