Hello Families,
We would like to continue in celebrating Black History Month. This year we anticipate many more posters. For each student that returns a poster they will receive 10 house points. In addition, the class that has the most participants will receive a special treat. This is a great time to participate and learn about an important part of our history. If you would like your child to participate, please have them choose an African/Black American that deserves to be celebrated for their contributions to civil rights, politics, the arts, music, and beyond. We would like to shine a spotlight on these hidden figures.
Your child will need a regular sized poster that will hang on the wall. This is for all Davidson students, any grade level. Posters need to have illustrations/pictures and important information about their chosen person. Please add your child’s name and grade on the back of the poster. This contest is voluntary and not for a grade.
Each poster will be judged and there will be a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winner. If you have any questions, you may contact Mrs. Hall @ shannontjones-hall@katyisd.org
All posters are due by February 18th. The judging will take place on February 27th, and winners announced on February 28th.
I can’t wait to see all the wonderful posters and learn more about Black History!
THANK YOU
Shannon Hall
