  • Beekeeping Club

    The Katy High School Beekeeping Club was founded in 2017 by a group of students and one faculty sponsor.  Students raised enough initial funds to purchase 5 nucs, 8 beekeeping suits, bee boxes and hive tools.

    Our apiary is located adjacent to the Tiger Prairie, and our “ladies” forage within a 3-5 mile radius, helping to pollinate local plants, like antelope milkweed, Indian paintbrush, native grasses and sedges, wine cups, black-eyed Susan's and wild blackberries

    Club bowling is made of boys and girls varsity teams. Students bowl competitively with other schools in the district and region.

  • Chess Club

    The Chess Club is open to anyone that wants to learn to play chess or sharpen your skills.  We have students with all skill levels to help or challenge others.  Several members are willing to teach moves, opening moves, etc to anyone interested.

    The Katy HS Debate Team is comprised of a fun, competitive, and hard-working group of students.  We practice twice a week, competing on weekends at up to twenty events each year.  Students are required to be currently enrolled in the debate class during their first year of team membership.  Enrollment in the debate class is optional after the first year, but the vast majority of debaters remain enrolled in the debate class so that they have a dedicated daily time to research the season’s topics.  Parents and prospective students should please feel free to email the coach with any questions!​

    ​The FFA has a little something to offer every student. Our activities range from leadership and judging competitions, to camps and convention trips, to raising an animal for the livestock show. To be involved in the FFA, you must be enrolled in an Agriculture Science Class.

    Students entering their 10th, 11th, or 12th grade year have the opportunity to welcome the new incoming class of freshmen by being Peer Mentors. Peer Mentors are selected by the KHS Staff to provide an enjoyable experience for our new 9th graders at Fish Camp. These supervised upperclassmen host the incoming freshmen for an informative and fun-filled day of becoming acquainted with the West and Main Campus buildings through motivational sessions and learning KHS traditions.​​

    The German Club gives students taking German an opportunity to share a common goal of learning German as well as doing fun activities outside of school. Activities include trips to German/Austrian restaurants, museums, putt-putt golf and fund-raising activities. 

  • Good Sportsmanship League

    The Good Sportsmanship League (GSL) is an organization that promotes good sportsmanship at the varsity football games.  GSL is open to 11th and 12th graders and we take applications in April for the next year.  Students in GSL will prepare a goodie basket for the opposing team during enrichment.  You must be at the games you are assigned to walk 30 minutes before kickoff.  Students walk across the field to meet students from the opposing team, exchange gifts, and wish them good luck!​

    The only History Club in Texas is open to anyone who is interested in history beyond the classroom setting. Activities include field trips, mock trials, reenactments, writing (with the possibility of being published), as well as the study of music and art throughout time.

    ​The purpose of the Sociedad Honoraria Hispánica is to recognize high achievement in Spanish and to promote continuit​y of interest in Hispanic studies since 1953. The Spanish Honor Society in KHS started in 2012. To qualify, students should have a 3.5 GPA in their Spanish classes at levels 3, 4 or 5, or have finished the AP classes successfully. Members who engage and complete voluntary work and participate in all activities and fundraisers set by our Chapter Hispania, will be initiated in the Spring.​

    Honors students with GPA of 3.75 or better. More than just an honor roll, NHS serves to honor those students who have demonstrated excellence in the areas of Scholarship, Leadership, Service, and Character. These characteristics have been associated with membership in the organization since its beginning in the 1920s. Potential members receive invitations in the spring of their sophomore or junior ​years.

    ​Our goal is for students to express creativity in the leisure hobby of photography. Taking pictures at games as well as many other after school events will be a great opportunity for students of all grades to step outside of their comfort zone and be challenged by a cameras many secrets. This club will also Improve and potentially introduce this avocation in a way of learning and harnessing creativity. Finally, this is a chance for the school to get more recognition by covering its academic/sportsmanship value.​
