Welcome to the Jordan High School Academic Decathlon website. Jordan High School opened its doors in 2020 and is the ninth high school in the Katy Independent School District - located in Katy, Texas (we are a city just west of Houston). We look forward to another exciting school year and a successful AD season.
Program Description from the USAD website:
"The Academic Decathlon® is a ten-event scholastic competition for teams of high school students. Each high school enters a team of nine students: 3 "A" or Honor students, 3 "B" or Scholastic students, and 3 "C" or Varsity students.The theme for the 2023-2024 Academic Decathlon® season is Technology and Humanity.
Academic Decathlon® is a team competition wherein students match their intellects with students from other schools. Students are tested in ten categories:
Art, Economics, Essay, Interview, Language and Literature, Mathematics, Music, Science, Social Science, and Speech.Gold, Silver, and Bronze medals are awarded for individual events and total scores. Winning teams advance through the local, regional, and state levels of competition. The state champions compete at the national finals.

Divya Kaushal - Co-Head Coach

281.234.8300Divya Kaushal joined Jordan High School in its first year of opening in 2020. She will be teaching Algebra 2 KAP along with being a coach for Academic Decathlon. She joined Jordan High School from Morton Ranch High School where she taught AP Calculus BC/AB and Algebra 2 KAP. She was also an Academic Decathlon coach at Morton Ranch High School. Ms. Kaushal holds a Master's degree in Physics specializing in Electronics. She holds a double Bachelor's degree in Mathematics and Education. She has twenty-four years of experience teaching both Math and Physics. Ms. Kaushal has authored two Physics books on the Fundamentals of Physics and Mechanics which help introduce an interdisciplinary approach to her teaching methods.
