We have a variety of sessions being presented by our counseling and advanced academics teams. We will also have an extracurricular and electives fair in the main commons throughout the evening where you will have an opportunity to get information from the many programs on campus. Dear Colt Parents/Guardians:
Please be reminded about how important it is to show good sportsmanship as spectators at athletic competitions. The adults - parents, spectators, referees, and school staff - serve as role models for our students. They are watching us as much as we are watching them. Spectator sportsmanship includes:
- Remembering that the athletes on both sides are learning – learning the skills of the game, learning teamwork, learning to perform under pressure, learning mental and emotional fortitude. They will make mistakes. Allow the coaches to perform their role of coaching each player and their team in areas that may need improvement. Let’s support the growth and learning of ALL young athletes, regardless of which side they are on.
- Keep it positive. Any cheers/comments must be positive and supportive of athletes, coaches, referees, and other spectators. Angry outbursts and derogatory remarks about a team, individual player, referee, or coach are unacceptable.
- Clean up after yourselves. Throw away your trash when you leave the event.
- If there is a problem that needs to be addressed, speak to the administrator on duty or police/security officer working the event.
Abiding by the expectations above will help ensure a safe and positive experience for everyone attending the competition. Spectators who do not abide by these expectations will be asked to leave the event. Thank you for supporting our athletes and displaying good sportsmanship from the stands!
Mr. Rounds
Principal
