TELPAS Testing
The Texas English Language Proficiency Assessment System (TELPAS) is an annual assessment for students who have been identified as emergent bilingual students. TELPAS assesses English language proficiency in four language domains—listening, speaking, reading, and writing.
Raines Academy will be giving the TELPAS test to all emergent bilingual students on February 19-21.

Important Information for Parents of Juniors
All juniors will have the opportunity to sign up to take the SAT about two weeks before the test. Students will use Bluebook™, the College Board’s testing app, to take the test on their district one-to-one device.

Tompkins HS - 3/19/2025Katy ISD provides all students with academic opportunities needed to prepare them for college and beyond. Participation in the SAT School Day is an important step in preparing for college.
The SAT is accepted by all U.S. colleges; it measures what students are learning in high school and what they need to know to succeed in college and their career. With SAT School Day, all students have access to this important stepping-stone. Students can choose which colleges, universities, and / or scholarship programs to send their four free score reports.
Students can prepare for this exam by reviewing the information in the SAT School Day Student Guide. Students can use the information located on the College Board’s website to create a study plan.
What Should Students Do Before Test Day?
- Create a College Board Account
- Decide where to send scores
What Should Students Bring on Test Day?
- A pen or pencil for scratch work (No. 2 pencil not required)
- Current and valid school/government issued ID
- Snacks/drinks to be consumed during breaks
- Desmos Calculator is embedded in the Bluebook app; however, a student can also choose to bring a College Board approved calculator. If a student needs a hand-held calculator, please contact the Campus Testing Coordinator.
- List of 4 colleges/scholarships to send scores
- Fully charged one-to-one device
Score Reports will only be available electronically to students through BigFuture School and in the student’s personal College Board account. Students completing assessments by March 28, 2025, will receive scores on April 17. Students completing assessments after March 28, 2025, and by April 11 will receive scores on May 1. Students completing assessments after April 11, 2025, and by April 30 will receive scores on May 15.
