Katy ISD Library Services Mission Statement

  • The mission of the Katy Independent School District library media centers is to build a culture of literacy, inquiry, and creativity while empowering all patrons to become life-long learners and discriminating users of information.

     . . . . . . . .

To execute this mission, library media specialists, administrators, teachers, parents, and the community must collaborate to:

    • provide access to current and relevant materials,
    • ensure that all patrons can proficiently locate, access, integrate, evaluate and communicate information and ideas, and
    • maintain a safe and welcoming environment for diverse learners that stimulates and enriches an appreciation of literature, intellectual freedom, social responsibility and life-long learning.

    Maker Mondays

On 9/11 we’ll be learning how to compose our own music by using iPad apps. Club forms are available in the library. Members need to sign up for a pass in the library on 9/11 before 1:15; passes go to the first 30 students.

    Thursday Board Games

This club meets every Thursday during ELT. Students must sign up for an e-hall pass before noon.

    Crafting Club

This month’s meeting is on September 29th. Students may attend the morning session (8:00am SHARP) or sign up for an e-hall pass for the self-directed tutorials during ELT.  We will be making Cross-Stitch Bookmarks to celebrate National Sewing Month.
