The Katy ISD Police Department, in partnership with the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), will allow the public to safely dispose of potentially dangerous, expired, unused and unwanted prescription medications.
For the second year in a row, Katy ISD has been named the #1 Public School District in the Houston Area and also received an A+ overall grade according to the 2023 Niche Best Schools list.
GT screenings for incoming secondary students are now taking place at Katy ISD.
Parents of kindergarten students in Katy ISD who would like their child to be part of the Challenge (Gifted and Talented, GT) program may refer them for screening.
Instructional Materials Review
Katy ISD parents and community members will have an opportunity to review and provide their input on K-5 ELAR (English Language Arts and Reading) and K-5 SLAR (Spanish Language Arts and Reading) instructional materials. These instructional materials will be implemented during the 2023-2024 school year and include materials for phonics, grammar, reading and writing.
Materials will be on display by grade level in English and Spanish. A QR code will be provided to input resource feedback.
The instructional materials under consideration will be on display for in person review from 8AM-7PM on the following dates:
Thursday, November 10, 2022 - Friday, November 11, 2022
Monday, November 14, 2022 - Friday, November 18, 2022
Monday, November 28, 2022-Wednesday, November 30, 2022

The 2022-2023 final exam exemption criteria information is accessible via the MyKaty Cloud “Exemption Information” tile now available for quick and easy reference.
All absences will count toward the maximum of 8 allowed unless the absences are school-related (see attendance codes per the 2022-2023 exemption form).
HOME ACCESS CENTER (HAC)
As a reminder, parents of secondary students are asked to check the HAC to stay abreast of their student(s) current six weeks assignment grades and grade average. HAC reflects the most accurate academic progress of students.
Grades observable in Canvas reflect the cumulative semester grade average. To ensure secondary students refer to the HAC to verify current grades on assignments and six weeks grade average, the following message is housed on the Canvas homepage:
