Ruben Espinosa - 7th Grade Counselor
Hi, my name is Ruben Espinosa. I am currently the 7th grade Counselor at MDJH.
I graduated from UHCL in 2012 and this is my 11th year as a counselor and this is my 7th year as a counselor at MDJH. Before this, I had been a bilingual teacher for 15 years.
I was actually my older daughter's teacher in 4th grade! She's now a nurse. I also have another daughter who is a senior this year and she wants to become a psychiatrist. My wife is a therapist with her own practice - we're all in the helping profession.
I enjoy spending time with my family when I am not at work.

Guenevere Cargill - 8th Grade Counselor
I am currently the 8th grade Counselor. This is my 29th year in education and my 27th year at McDonald JH.
I have taught Physical Education, Special Education and coached at the JH Level. This is my seventeenth year as a School Counselor. I love being a part of the MDJH Family. I obtained my Bachelor's degree in Kinesiology and a Special Education Endorsement from Stephen F. Austin State University. In addition, I received my Master's degree in School Counseling from Prairie View State University.
My goal as a School Counselor is to support the students with all their needs and to provide a safe place for them to go if any issues or concerns arise. I am looking forward to being your Counselor throughout your JH years.
I have a set of twins who are now 15 years old that keep me busy. If and when I have spare time, you can find me at one of my children's sporting events, at the beach, working in my yard or vegging with crime solving or Hallmark shows.

Kim Costello - 6th Grade Counselor
My name is Kim Costello. This is my 24th year in education, all at MDJH. I started here as a 7th Grade Language Arts teacher fresh out of Texas A&M, where I received my Bachelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary Studies. I soon realized there was something special about this community, and after I earned a Master’s degree in Counseling from the University of Houston-Victoria, I was blessed to become a Counselor here in 2005. I truly understand that moving from elementary to junior high is an important transition. I want my students to understand that my office is a safe place they can go to when they have any questions or concerns.
When I’m not at MDJH, I spend most of my time trying to keep up with my two boys, ages 12 and 17. We enjoy road trips, football games, and watching comedies.
