Secondary ELA Classroom Libraries
English Language Arts (ELA) Classroom libraries allow students immediate access to independent reading material, which supports the English Language Arts Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills. Katy ISD secondary students have the option to check out books from their English teacher’s classroom library, though as of November 7, parental consent is required prior to a student being able to do so. If parents do not provide consent via the Parent Option Portal, their secondary student will be unable to check out an ELA classroom library book.
Katy ISD parents may access the KISD Option Portal to provide consent for their student to check out classroom library books by selecting the MyKaty icon on the District’s webpage, enter their parent ID and password, and then select the "KISD Option Portal" tile. Below are screenshots of the MyKaty icon and KISD Option Portal. Parents needing assistance in accessing their ID and password may manage their account here. Parents who require additional assistance with accessing the application can view an instructional video here.
