I have been in education for 24 years.  Before moving to Katy in 2012, I was an elementary classroom teacher for 10 years, where I taught 4th grade and then moved on to be an elementary librarian. I worked in Del Rio, TX as an elementary librarian for 2 years. When my family moved to Katy, TX, I spent 7 years as an elementary librarian at McRoberts Elementary, and now I am starting my 6th year as a junior high librarian.  I graduated from Sul Ross State University in 1999 with a BA in Interdisciplinary Studies with a specialization in reading. I graduated from Texas Tech University in 2006 with a Master's Degree in Special Education. After earning my master's degree, I attended the University of North Texas to obtain my library science certificate.

I LOVE my job as a librarian and I thrive on learning new things.  My goal is to empower my students to be lifelong learners and readers by encouraging them to explore different genres, apply new technology to their daily learning, and guide them as they explore their interests through reading and research.
