About Mrs. Ballard

  • Hi Jaguars! My name is Laura Ballard, and I am the "ladybug lady" for grades K, 2 & 4.  I have worked in education for 16 years. I am so excited about being at Jenks, and look forward to a great school year! 

    While at school I love spending time with students! I believe in building relationships so that all my students feel safe and comfortable coming to me with any problems or concerns they have. I encourage students, parents, and staff to stop by the office any time to visit. You are always welcome!

    When not at school, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. I am married to my husband, Adam, and we have four wonderful kiddos.

    Philosophy

    I believe children will achieve more success, academically and emotionally, if they feel supported and cared for. It is my goal to ensure all the students I work with know that I support and care for them. Their academic and emotional success is my main priority.
     

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies from Baylor University
    • Master of Education with a specialization in School Counseling from Lamar University
    • State certificate in school counseling, K-12
    • Member of the Texas Counseling Association
    • Certified Trauma Practitioner
