CLASS OF 2024    

The SchooLinks College Application Manager is available to the Class of 2024. SchooLinks is a tile that students can access in MyKatyCloud.     

 


ATTENDANCE AND EXEMPTIONS

Seniors are required to attend school through Friday, May 10, 2024.  Excused and non-excused spring semester absences will accrue through Friday, May 10, 2024, count toward the maximum five (5) absences or less to exempt a final exam.  Seniors who are ineligible for final exam exemptions may take their final exams beginning on Monday, May 13, 2024. Campuses will communicate their specific senior final exam schedule that begins on Monday, May 13 through 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 15, 2024.     

Students are encouraged to verify semester exam exemption eligibility by continually monitoring their semester average(s), attendance/tardies, conduct grade(s) and behavior consequences via the Home Access Center (HAC).

STUDENT FEDERAL AID (FAFSA)  

 

 

FAFSA CHANGES

In accordance with Texas Education Code Section 28.0256, seniors graduating in 2022 and thereafter must complete and submit, and show proof of submission, a free application for federal student aid (FAFSA) or a Texas application for state financial aid (TAFSA).      

TASFA Information:  TASFA REQUIREMENTS 

 

Seniors who choose to opt out must complete one of the following options:    

  • The student’s parent or other person standing in parental relation submits a signed form indicating that the parent or other person authorizes the student to decline to complete and submit the financial aid application;  

  • The student signs and submits the TEA opt-out form on the student’s own behalf if the student is 18 years of age or older or the student’s disabilities of minority have been removed for general purposes under Chapter 31 (Removal of Disabilities of Minority), Family Code; or  

  • The school counselor authorizes the student to decline to complete and submit the financial aid application for good cause, as determined by the school counselor.
