FHS Parking Information
Parking spaces for the 2024-2025 school year will be available for online purchase beginning July 24th at 8:00 am. Parking permits will then be distributed to students who have registered and paid for them on Monday, August 5th from 9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. Check this page on July 24th for links to both the application and payment sites.
To be able to park on campus students must have a valid driver’s license (not a learner’s permit) and valid insurance for the vehicle they are driving.
Please read all of the following information carefully. Failure to follow this process will result in delays in the issuance of a parking permit:
Students must have a valid 2024/2025 Student Parking Permit for parking on campus. Parking stickers should be adhered to the lower right front passenger window (interior) and clearly visible at all times. Security will monitor the student parking lots for these permits. Cars parked without a permit are subject to booting (see below).
To apply for and receive a parking permit, students will need to complete the following requirements:
FIRST, students and/or parents will pay for the permit. The cost is $50 and payment is only accepted online through Pay ‘N Go.
- NO CASH OR CHECK ACCEPTED.
- Note: Parking permit fees are non-refundable and non-transferable. If a parking permit is given to or sold to another student, both students could potentially lose their parking privileges for the remaining school year. Parking is a privilege. A student's parking permit can be revoked temporarily or permanently for safety and driving violations. Suspension or full revocation will not result in any sort of refund.
SECOND, students will log into their Katy ISD Google accounts to complete an online parking application. Note, only students may access this link using their KatyISD credentials. Applications submitted by anyone other than the student requesting the permit will not be accepted.
Students will need the following to complete the online application:
- Vehicle Information – Make, Model, Color, License Plate #
- Uploaded image or PDF of VALID student’s driver’s license
- Uploaded image or PDF of VALID proof of insurance which MUST include:
- The vehicle the student will be driving
- An expiration date not before the date of the application.
- Uploaded receipt from the Pay N’ Go link
- Both students and parents/guardians must read and sign the Katy ISD Board Parking policy, Katy ISD Discipline Management & Student Code of Conduct, FHS Parking Rules and Regulations online.
How/Where to Pick Up Your Parking Permit
Permits will only be given to the student driver and the student must show his/her ID to collect the permit.
Prior to the beginning of school, permits will be distributed in the FHS rotunda at the dates/times below:
- Monday, August 5 – 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.
- August 9th - During Flight Camp
Once school begins, permits may be picked up before school, 6:50 a.m. - 7:10 a.m. or after school from 2:35 p.m. - 2:50 p.m. Permits will not be distributed during class periods.
- NOTE: Permits will not be distributed on the morning of the first day of school.
Temporary Parking
Temporary parking is only available to students who have purchased a valid parking permit. If it becomes necessary to temporarily drive another vehicle, drivers will need to go to the parking office immediately upon arrival at school. You will need to provide the license plate number of the vehicle you will be driving.
Vehicle Change
If you need to change vehicles during the year, update your information as soon as possible with Ms. Campos in the 10th grade AP office. Once the new vehicle information is received, a new sticker can then be issued to the new vehicle.
Booting
Students are NOT allowed to park on campus without purchasing a parking permit. FHS security will monitor the parking lots.
Students parking on campus without a valid student parking permit or in an undesignated parking area will have their cars booted. The fee for a first time boot removal is $25. A second parking violation will result in a fee of $50 to remove the boot.
Note: Student-designated parking is in the lot to the right of the school only. Students parking in the Visitor parking in front of the school or at Nelson Junior High will automatically be booted.
