Attendance
School Hours: 8:10. - 3:20 p.m. (front doors open at 7:50 a.m.)
Tardies: A student is considered tardy if they are not in class by the tardy bell - 8:10 a.m.
If your child visits a doctor before coming to school, a doctor's note must be presented to excuse the partial absence. A note is required for ALL healthcare appointments.
Picking up Your Child Early
A change of transportation must be made in writing (physical written notes) by 1:30 p.m. If you are picking your child up early from school, a parent or guardian must arrive before 2:40 p.m.
We do not accept transportation changes over the phone or by email.
If you are taking your child to the doctor, please remember to ask for a doctor's note. Also, if anyone other than a parent/guardian is picking up a student, we must have a written note ahead of time to release your child.
Need to Report an Absence?
All absences must be reported to the Attendance Office on a daily basis.
CLICK HERE TO REPORT AN ABSENCE
For prior day absences, a note signed by a parent or guardian is required. The note must include: the reason for the absence, the child's first and last name, grade level, and the date/s the absence/s is for.
Written notes or doctor's notes are required within five days of the absence.
If you do not report your child's absence on the day of, your child will be marked UNEXCUSED. A COMPULSORY ATTENDANCE NOTIFICATION (CAN) LETTER IS SENT WHEN A STUDENT HAS 3 OR MORE UNEXCUSED ABSENCES IN A 4-WEEK PERIOD OR 10 OR MORE UNEXCUSED ABSENCES IN A 6-MONTH PERIOD. If your child misses more than 5 consecutive days, the district requires a doctor's excuse upon return to school.
It is also a good idea to send a doctor's note WHENEVER POSSIBLE when your child returns to avoid your child having too many personal illness absences. A FAILURE TO ATTEND SCHOOL LETTER IS SENT WHEN A STUDENT HAS 8 OR MORE PERSONAL ILLNESS ABSENCES IN A 6-MONTH PERIOD.
