Character Strong / PurposeFULL People
Character Strong / PurposeFULL People is about creating a school culture that incorporates a child’s social emotional and character development in one. Character Strong is research based, providing vertically aligned lessons and activities that teach Self-Awareness, Self-Management, Social Awareness, Relationship Skills and Responsible Decision-Making skills. Throughout the year we will be focusing on the following character traits; responsibility, empathy, gratitude, honesty, kindness, perseverance, respect and creativity. At the end of each month, students are encouraged to wear a particular color to recognize the trait we are focusing on. For a list of the traits, dates and colors for the 2024-2025 school year please click on the link. 2024-2025 CHARACTER TRAITS AND DATES
Students are recognized weekly on the morning announcements, when they are nominated by a staff member for displaying outstanding character. The Character Strong program supports not only the students but also the entire Campbell Family (students, staff & families). By supporting social emotional health, it will positively impact a student’s academic success as well as build relationships and prepare them for the future.KEYS
KEYS (Keep Encouraging Youth toward Success) is a district program in which adults can apply to mentor students on elementary, junior high, or high school campuses. Campbell students are nominated for this program by ACE staff members, and parent consent is required. Students who are involved in the program may also be eligible for a KEYS scholarship. If you are interested in becoming a KEYS mentor, please visit the KEYS district website to learn more.PALS
The Katy Independent School district has a very special mentoring program called PALS (Peer Assistance Leadership Skills). Our school has been fortunate enough to be paired with PALS from Tompkins High School who will act as mentors to selected students at Campbell Elementary. These high school students must meet eligibility through training standards and participate in a selection process to become one of these dynamic peer leaders.
Campbell students are nominated for this program by ACE staff members, and parent consent is required. Students are chosen for PALS based on a variety of reasons. PALS are considered an extra cheerleader, a role model, a support system, an ear to listen, and so much more.ACE Kindness Crew
The Kindness Crew consists of students in 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade. Students meet once a month with the counselors, and complete a project promoting kindness, as well as school and community unity. You can see all of the amazing things the ACE Kindness Crew is doing on X @ACEkindness and #ACEkindkids.Bullying Awareness
At ACE, we feel it is vital to educate students, staff and parents on bullying. Every student in the school receives a guidance lesson that is focused on bully prevention and intervention during Bully Awareness Month in October. Knowing the difference between someone who is being mean, rude and bullying can be a bit confusing. To see what the students are learning and to see how much you as their parent really knows regarding bullying, be sure to click on the Campbell's Bullying Information Handout.
Our goal at ACE is to be proactive in creating a school culture of KINDNESS by having weekly kindness challenges, community circles, and monthly kindness projects led by the Kindness Crew. Katy ISD also has a strong stance against bullying. To see all the amazing things that Katy ISD is doing to promote Bully Awareness throughout the district, be sure to visit Katy ISD: Bullying Prevention and Intervention .
