• My name is Rebecca Luna, I was born and raised in Richmond, TX.  This is my 20th year in education, 18th in Katy ISD.  Prior to counseling I taught Kindergarten, 1st and an ESL-ISST.  This is my 7th year as a school counselor, and was honored to open Campbell Elementary in 2018.  I obtained my Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies from the University of Houston in 2003, receiving my Generalist EC-4 and ESL certificate.  I earned my Masters in School Counseling from the University of Houston-Victoria in 2016, and was named the Outstanding Graduate Student which is the honor for my class. I have my state certification in school counseling K-12, and I am an Advanced Certified Trauma & Resilience Practitioner (ACTRP) through Staar Commonwealth.

In 2023 I was named Katy ISD Elementary Counselor of the Year.  I am a member of the Texas Lone-Star State Counseling Association, American School Counselor Association, and a member of Chi Sigma Iota: School Counseling Honor Society, where I served as Mu Kappa Nu chapter president from 2014-2016.  I am also a Texas PTA Honorary Life Member (2018).

When I am not at school, I love spending time with my family and watching my two boys play baseball.  In July my husband and I celebrated our 17th anniversary, he also works for Katy ISD as an elementary PE teacher. I have two amazing and active boys; they are in 7th grade and 11th grade. I am a huge Astros, Dallas Cowboys and UH fan.
