Junior High Course Selection

  • Key Dates:

    • Course Selection Legacy Parent Academy -- January 16, 2025 from 6:00-8:00PM at the Merrell Center 
    • BJH Parent Preview Night -- Janaury 21, 2025 from 5:30-7:30 at Beck Junior High (for parents only) CANCELED! Please see the recorded parent presentation HERE!
    • BJH Course Selection Presentation -- January 24, 2025 during specials at SCE (for students only)
    • Katy ISD Course Selection Fair -- January 27, 2025 from 5:30-8:30PM at the Merrell Center **NEW DATE**

    Junior High Course Selection Timeline:

    • January 21-February 3 -- Counselor teaches a guidance lesson on how to input courses and complete personalized plans in SchooLinks to all 5th grade homeroom classes
    • January 24 -- Course Planning Sheet goes home with students after the BJH Course Selection Presentation
    • February 3-14 -- Students complete the Course Planning Sheet AND input course selections in SchooLinks
      • Students must return the signed Course Planning Sheet to their homeroom teacher by February 14
    • February 17-24 -- Counselor meets with students individually to review their courses in SchooLinks and approve plans
      • Parents will receive an email to approve their child's course plans AFTER their child's individual meeting with the counselor. Changes may be requested at this time.
    • March 9 -- Last day to approve and/or request changes in SchooLinks. NO CHANGES WILL BE ACCEPTED AFTER MARCH 9.
    • March 24 -- Parents will have view only access in SchooLinks
