• My Mission & Philosophy

My mission is to provide all students with a comprehensive guidance program that supports them through conflicts that arise in their present lives and that allows them to begin thinking about the future. I strive to allow students to build skills that they will use for the rest of their lives. These include language development, being analytical thinkers and problem solvers, having good morals and values, having interpersonal skills such as listening, communicating, sharing, and meeting one's own and others' needs, as well as intrapersonal skills such as being conscious of thoughts and feelings, being motivated, setting goals, having desires, and realizing passions. I will master these skills with collaboration of teachers, administrators, parents, students, and the community in individual as well as in group settings.  I look forward to fostering a vision for students’ futures.

    Guidance Curriculum

As BCE's School Counselor, I provide students with the life skills necessary to be productive citizens inside and outside of the classroom. These skills will be taught in units in the classroom utilizing differentiated instruction and learning activities based on level of development. I provide social, emotional, and behavioral support and services for all students.

    Responsive Services

As BCE's School Counselor, I offer immediate and short term solution-focused interventions for students who are at risk based on their levels of personal, social, and emotional need. These responsive services are preventive, corrective, or crisis oriented. I refer families to outside community support, resources, and services  as needed.

    Individual Planning

As BCE's School Counselor, I guide students in making an individual plan for their future—educationally, personally, socially, and with a career readiness focus. I facilitate transition activities for post-secondary education and/or training.

    System Support

As BCE's School Counselor, I identify and provide resources and activities on campus, to families, and within the community that benefit students. I provide programming through outside programs. I assess campus and student data to create an effective school counseling program. I support and collaborate with teachers, staff, parents, and the community to assure that students' educational, career, personal, and social needs are met.
