My name is Caitlin Bennett, and I cannot wait to begin my 4th year of teaching at Shafer Elementary! This will be my second year in 3rd. I graduated from University of Houston-Victoria with a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and completed the Texas Teachers alternative program to earn my teaching certificate. My husband and I have been married for 2 years and have a very handsome 1 year old son, Julian. In my free time, I love spending time with family, friends, and my two dogs, Hauper and Lucy. In my classroom, I strive to foster a community of learners while creating a fun environment where students feel safe, loved, and successful. I am looking forward to a wonderful school year with you and your sweet child!

Hey hey Silver Knights!!  My name is Lauren Clayton, and I am incredibly grateful to be working at such a fabulous school like Shafer! This will be my 7th year in education!! I have taught 2nd and 3rd grade, but 3rd has been my favorite! I earned my Bachelor’s degree from Texas A&M (WHOOP!)  and my Masters in Ed.Tech and Leadership from Lamar University.  I have been married to my amazing husband for 5 years and we have a beautiful daughter that will be turning 1 in October! In my free time I love spending time watching our Aggies, shopping on Amazon, and spending time with our families! I am eager to begin another wonderful year!

Hello Silver Knights! My name is Marquie Epperly and I am proud to say I will be continuing my teaching journey here at Shafer Elementary.  Some of you may recognize me from fourth grade last year, but this year I had the opportunity to move to third grade,  which is my favorite and right where I want to be! I was in third grade when I knew I wanted to be a teacher. My dream began when I was the same age as the students in my classroom and I am fortunate to be still following my dream today. I think that is a special thing to share with students. 

This will be my 5th year in education. I am a proud graduate of University of Texas at San Antonio, Go Runners! Beep! Beep! I furthered my education and received my Masters in Elementary Education at Grand Canyon University. 

My husband, Ben, and I love game nights, camping, playing pool, and working in the garden. When I get spare time you can find me in my craft room or buying plants!  Bring on year 2! I cannot wait to meet my new group of students and begin a new school year, “Growing Together!”

My name is Deanna Kennedy, and I am so excited to be joining the Shafer Family as a 3rd grade ELA teacher for my 18th year in education! I have previously taught in various grade levels, have been a reading specialist and a reading interventionist. I have 2 daughters, Madison and Emily. Madison loves basketball and is going into the 5th grade and Emily loves gymnastics and is going into the 3rd grade. I also have 2 dogs, Bailey (a golden retriever) and Cooper (a golden doodle). My family loves to travel any opportunity we get and try new restaurants around Houston! I am looking forward to a great year at Shafer! 

Hi! My name is Morgan Line and I will be teaching 3rd grade ELAR! This is my 2nd year at Shafer and I am so excited to be here! I was born and raised in Katy, Texas. I graduated from The University of Texas at San Antonio, BEEP BEEP!  I am a wife and mom. I enjoy reading, working out and spending time outdoors/camping with my family. I am looking forward to another great year!

My name is Dominique Rosario and I am so excited to meet my new students!  This will be my 13th year of teaching!  In my thirteen years of teaching, I have taught all the grades in elementary, but 3rd grade is truly my favorite!   This will be my fifth year as a Shafer Knight!

I graduated from University of Houston in education, Go Coogs!  My husband and I have been together for 17 years and we have a daughter who will be in 4th grade this year!  We adopted a dog, Cookie and have 2 crested geckos, Mango and Princess Poppy.

I truly love teaching and building relationships with each of my students!  This year is going to be great and I am looking forward to it!

Hi!! My name is Kristin Tinsley, and I can’t wait to begin my 32nd year of teaching, This is my 11th year at Shafer and my 23rd year in KISD. I graduated from Lubbock Christian University with a Bachelor's degree in Education.

In my free time I love to travel, spend time with my family and I’m an avid crossfitter.  I’m also a huge Texas Tech fan and love to watch college football!!!!

I have 3 wonderful children. My oldest son is a graduate from the University of Wyoming and is in the IT field,  my middle son is an Electrician and my youngest daughter just graduated from Texas State studying nursing. She will begin nursing school in January. I have been married for 35 years to my incredible husband!!!

I am looking forward to a wonderful school year with you and your sweet child!!

I am Morgan Van Domelen and this will be my 4th year in education and ELAR. I studied elementary education at Texas Tech University - where I also spent much of my time hiking in Palo Duro with my dogs and going to football/baseball games #Wreck’emTech! I now enjoy spending time with my family, pups, and friends outdoors, working out, and trail riding in New Mexico and Colorado. I am looking forward to a wonderful 23-24 school year.
