Hello!  I am going to be a YCAP aide at Shafer this year.  I am really looking forward to working with our sweet students!

I am Kanimozhi Arivoli. I’m a paraprofessional in a special education team. I hold a Bachelors in Technology degree, from India. My journey into the US education system began as a substitute teacher at Katy ISD in 2022. I have been pursuing my passion to educate and teach at Shafer Elementary since 2023. I enjoy spending time with Children to motivate them and help them push themselves to excellence. I have been happily married for 17 years and blessed with two lovely daughters - one 8th grader and a 4th grader. During my leisure time, I enjoy gardening, cooking new dishes, and going on a hike with my family. I’m looking forward to a wonderful school year!

My name is Sreejita Chakraborty, joined Shafer Elementary as a Y-cap instructional aide and I’m very excited about that! This is my fifth year working as an instructional aide and it’s  my first year as a full time employee in Katy isd, although I have worked as a substitute teacher for four years in Katy isd in earlier years. I’m a mom of two kids. Older one is in college and younger one is in high school. Art , music and movies are common interests among us. And we love to travel together. Recently we have lost our pet Leo, who gave us unconditional love for ten years! I have always worked with elementary kids and want to continue doing it in future because of their innocence and love to learn and with this aptitude they have always made me feel alive. 

Hello! My name is Desiree Faria Méndez, and I am excited to serve as a YCAP ParaProfesional at Shafer! This will be my 2nd year teaching Special Education in Katy ISD. I love our Team and working with children and watching their smiles when they accomplish something new.

My name is Sonia Ferrari and this is my third year at Shafer as a SPED In Class Support Paraprofessional.  I have been working for KISD since 2020, when I started as a Substitute and also taught elementary students from K-5 grades on the KVA (Katy Virtual Academy) online classes, and later junior high students. Also, I volunteered for my son’s KISD elementary, junior high and high schools. My husband and I have a precious 23-year-old son who just graduated from Texas A&M, College Station. We enjoy travelling and it includes experience in living in London, Plymouth, UK, and Barcelona, Spain. I cannot wait to see the lovely smiling faces of the Silver Knights coming to their Shafer Kingdom of positivity, creativity, and excellence, and be amazed by their academic growth. 

Hi, I am Devin Garza. This is my 12th year with Katy ISD. It will be my 2nd year at Shafer. I love working with students. Graduated from UHV in 2023. Working on my teaching certification.  

Hi, I'm Maria Marcano. This is my second year at Shafer as an ICS SPED para. I love working with kids.  I believe that every child has a unique strength and potential , and I am dedicated to helping them achieve their best.  In my spare time , I enjoy spending time with my family. I'm excited to continue growing in my role and making a positive impact on the lives of the students I work with.

My name is Eliana Mendez. I’m very happy to be able to work with children in the YCAP position. I’m a Chemical Food Engineering graduate from La Salle University. Throughout the years, I developed my professional career teaching and training adults in different areas, but recently found myself teaching children and quickly realized the satisfaction that comes from it. Starting this year will mark my third year at Katy ISD.  It is a pleasure to be able to work and contribute to the growth of the Shafer Family.

Hello, my name is Stephanie Morales. I am a YCAP para here at Shafer Elementary. I am excited for this school year. I enjoy my job and seeing the growth in our students.

My name is Raji Prasad.  I’m excited to be working as an In Class Support paraprofessional at Shafer this year!  I have been in SPED with Katy ISD for eight years.  I’m passionate about working with students and helping them reach their individual educational goals.

My name is Mubina Usmani, and this is my third year in Early Childhood Special Education. I am a mom of four beautiful children! I am so excited to start a new school year. 

Hello! My name is Jaydon Vargas, and I am a first year ICS Paraprofessional at Shafer Elementary. I am excited to join Shafer Elementary and help the staff make a positive difference at the school! In my free time, I love enjoying quality time with friends and family.
