Meet the Counselor

  • Hello everyone!

My name is Kyliesha Marie August, and I am the new school counselor at Maurice L. Wolfe Elementary. I am excited to be apart of the Wolfe family. I was born and raised in Houston, Texas. I was blessed to have served 10 years as an educator in Fort Bend ISD, including five years as a restorative practice coach. During my last 2 years in Fortbend ISD I had the honor of being teacher of the year!

I hold a Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education (EC-6) from Sam Houston State University and a Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction from Houston Baptist University. I worked as an aviation mechanic in the US NAVY. In the years that followed, I completed the Region 4 Inspire Texas alternative counselor program and received my EC-12 School Counseling Certification. I'm currently working toward a master's degree from Lamar University in counseling and development with a focus in marriage, couple, and family counseling. Khloe (9) and Kaylee (4) are my two little daughters I admire and love. Outside of my studies, job, and role as a mother, I also love line dancing, traveling, and eating delicious food.

I'm incredibly appreciative of the opportunity to serve in both my first year as a school counselor and my first year with Katy ISD. I am delighted to get to know all our students, faculty, staff, parents, and community members. To guarantee that every kid succeeds in school and the community, it is also my major obligation to support their academic and social/emotional growth. I will assist kids one-on-one, in small groups, and through classroom guidance lessons. I am looking forward to a fantastic school year!

    Thank you,
    Kyliesha August,
    School Counselor
