Meet the Counselors

  • Mrs. Bond

    Bond Family

Welcome! My name is Kelly Bond, and I am the 1st, Special Programs, 3rd, and 5th grade School Counselor at Olga Leonard Elementary. I received my bachelor's degree in Communications from Texas State University and my master's degree in counseling from Sam Houston State University. I have been in education for 23 years in total.  I was a classroom teacher for the first 10 years, working with all ages from elementary to high school, and have spent the past 11 years in elementary counseling.

I believe every behavior is a form of communication, and it is our job to figure out how to communicate and reach each student, so we can help them feel successful and smile on the inside.  We want them to know they have someone to talk with about their challenges in life or celebrations.

In my spare time, I enjoy spending time being a mom, bonus mom, and wife to an amazing husband and six children.  I am also the youngest of five and have two amazing brothers and two awesome sisters.  With such a large family, you will find me making memories and collecting moments, not things.

"Children are not a distraction from more important work. They are the most important work." -John Trainer

My name is La Toya Mills, and I am the Pre- K, K, Special Programs, 2nd, and 4th grade School Counselor at Olga Leonard Elementary. I received my bachelor’s degree from Sam Houston State University and my master’s degree in counseling from Lamar University. This is my 16th year in education. I have 9 years of experience in 4th and 2nd grade and have enjoyed these last 6 years in my counseling role. This is my very first year in Katy ISD and I am loving my new home and all the Katy love!

I have a passion for social and emotional learning and feel that every student deserves to be loved, understood, and happy. It is my goal to build a relationship with our leopard students and families and grow lifelong learners that are academically and socially ready for the world.

In my free time, I love spending time with my family, friends, and sorority sisters, and my puppy. Cooking, listening to live music, attending plays and concerts, and shopping are a few of my favorite hobbies.

One of the sayings I always live by is, “Family is not just an important thing, It’s EVERYTHING! The most important thing in the world is family and love.” I can’t wait to make KISD and Leonard Elementary my second family and celebrate many memories and special moments together😊
