Please contact the school daily to report your child's absence. You can report the absence by calling the school at (281) 234-4604, by sending an email to firstname.lastname@example.org or by sending a handwritten note when your child returns to school. Please provide your student's name, grade, teacher and the reason why he/she is unable to attend school. If the absence is due to a doctor's visit, please provide a doctor's excuse so that the absence may be recorded correctly. All notes/excuses should be given to the attendance office within 5 days of the absence.
Texas requires a child who is at least six years of age, or who is younger than six years of age and has previously been enrolled in first grade, and who has not yet reached his/her 18th birthday to attend school for the entire period the program is offered unless exempt by TEC 25.086. While students are not required to enroll in pre-kindergarten or kindergarten, once enrolled, the students are required to attend school. TEC 25.085 and Board Policy FEA (LEGAL)
A student is considered tardy when the student is not in the proper place with all needed materials before the tardy bell rings. The school doors open at 8:05 a.m. and the tardy bell is at 8:23 am. If the student arrives after 9:55 am without proper documentation, he/she may be considered absent. Please help us get each day off to a good start by having your child at school on time.
If you need to pick up your child early, it must be done no later than 3:00 pm. Please understand that this is necessary in order not to interfere with our daily dismissal procedures. Any adult checking out a student must be listed as a guardian on the birth certificate. However, if you are sending someone other than the listed guardian on the birth certificate, you are required to send an email email@example.com. Please provide the name of the student(s), date of pickup, who will be picking them up and the reason. You will also need to include a copy of the parent ID who is requesting the pickup. This is to ensure that the guardian of the child(ren) is the one requesting the change.
