Developing the Policy

The Campus Advisory Team (C.A.T.) - which includes parents, Title 1 parents, teachers, staff, principals, and administrators - helped develop the Parental Involvement Policy and revise the School-Parent Compact. The committee meets quarterly throughout the school year.  At the final C.A.T. meeting of each school year, we discussed the policy and the many different aspects of parental involvement. We provide our parents with a questionnaire to receive feedback related to communication with parents and barriers that affect parental involvement. Our School-Parent Compact was reviewed once again at the beginning of the year C.A.T. meeting for each school year, so it would reflect the most up-to-date data and goals. Our School-Parent Compact and our Parental Involvement Policy are translated into Spanish so that all parents can read and understand it in a language that is clear and specific. We encourage parent volunteers to serve on this committee as liaisons to the community so that the diversity of our campus is represented.
