Student Council
-
The Student Council is comprised of two elected representatives from each fourth and fifth grade class. The goal of the Student Council is to develop leadership. Members help plan, coordinate, and communicate with service activities throughout the school. Our paper recycling program helps raise awareness of recycling and earns money for our school. A collection of Box Tops for Education generates around $2,000 per year for our school. The money is used to purchase playground equipment, as well as classroom equipment for teachers. We annually conduct a Toys for Tots drive. The proceeds are given to organizations which have some connection to our school, such as Katy Christian Ministries or Texas Children’s Hospital. We have also sent school supplies overseas to needy schools and until December 15, we are partnering with Katy ISD, the Katy Rotary Club and the Houston Texans to send books and school supplies to Nri, Nigeria.
