• General Library Information:

    Library Hours: 8:30-2:55

    Library Schedule:

Check with your teacher for your library day. Students check out books every week, but there are only lessons for each grade level every other week.

Week A: Primary students (grades PreK-2) have lessons and check out books. Intermediate students only have checkout.

Week B: Intermediate students (grades 3-5) have lessons and check out books. Primary students only have checkout.

    Returning library books:

There are several ways to return your library books!

    A.  Books may be placed in the blue rolling library cart in your teacher's classroom, and the cart will be taken down on the morning of your library day. While you get to keep your book for two weeks, you may turn it in as soon as you finish it. This is an excellent way to keep from losing your books and give someone else the chance to check them out.

    B. We also have bins outside the library where you may return your books on your way to class when you arrive in the morning or throughout the day. You don't even have to go inside the library! We check these bins throughout the day. We have them outside the library doors of both the primary and intermediate hallways.

    C. You may also return books inside the library by placing them in the book slot on the circulation desk.

    Book Fair:

Our library hosts two Scholastic book fairs every school year, one in the fall and one in the spring. Thank you for helping support the library so that we may buy more books, host author visits and events, and purchase materials for our students and staff! Our next Book Fair will run from October 17- October 21, with previewing scheduled the week before. More info is coming soon!

    Book Care:

ALWAYS place library books in the library plastic bag before putting them in backpacks. If the ziplock stops working and can't seal the bag, or if the bag is lost, ask Mrs. Schilling or Mrs. Poole for a new one.

    Library Policy for Damaged Books:

→Water Damage:  Books with water damage must be disposed of and replaced. Students are charged the full replacement cost.

→Other Damage:  Students returning books with significant damage are also charged the full replacement cost.

Why are library books so expensive? Our books have Library Binding and processing. This binding makes our books so durable that they can handle the wear and tear from multiple users. Also, we have to pay our vendors for the book processing--the labeling, barcode, etc. This is why we can't accept a book purchased from a parent to replace a damaged book.

    Pay "N Go

    Pay 'N Go Information:

For the 2022-2023 school year, the library will accept payment for Birthday Book Club, ID badges, and lanyards through Pay Pay 'N Go only. The library can no longer take cash or check.
