Meet the Counselor

  • My name is Colleen Walker, and I am excited to be working at Loraine T. Golbow Elementary as a school counselor for the 2022-2023 school year.  I have been employed by Katy ISD for many years.  I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication with emphasis in Public Relations from Mississippi State University as well as a Master of Education degree in Counseling Education from the University of St. Thomas.  Prior to becoming a counselor at Golbow, I was a Special Education teacher.  I taught Life Skills, students in the Pre-School Program for Children with Disabilities (PPCD), and 4th & 5th grade Resource/In-Class Support (ICS) Math, Reading, and Language Arts. My role as counselor will include conducting guidance lessons, visiting with individual students, serving as a resource for parents and staff members,  and collaborating with staff members to address academic concerns.  In my spare time, I love traveling, spending time with family and friends, and working in my community.  I am looking forward to an exciting and enriching school year with your children.
