Hello Vikings!

I am Mrs. McGee and I am so excited to be returning to Katy ISD and joining the Viking family for my 30th year as an educator. It will be my 25th year as a library media specialist. I most recently lived and served as a library media specialist in the East Texas region.   In addition to my library experience, I have also been an elementary teacher and a special education teacher.   The library is my favorite place to be!  I love to read and especially enjoy helping students discover that "just right" book or favorite genre.  I am passionate about creating a warm, welcoming and safe library space for students and staff.   When I am not being a librarian my favorite thing to do is spend time with my family.  We enjoy watching game shows together, grilling, attending sporting events and traveling.  Many of the places I have traveled to I learned about through reading library books. I can't wait for my next travel adventure!

Born and raised in California, Mrs. Isdal moved to Texas 10 years ago with her husband and 3 children. Before becoming your Library Aide, Mrs. Isdal spent time on the PTA board at Randolph Elementary, volunteered with the Tompkins and Jordan Marching Bands, and taught Pre-K for 8 years. Mrs.Isdal is proud to be a Viking. She LOVES reading and making the library a place students feel welcomed - especially for students who struggle to read like she did when she was younger. She loves audiobooks, historical fiction, true crime, and romance novels.When not in school, she loves hand embroidery, photography, watching binge worthy shows, traveling, and is a massive Outlander fan who dreams of spending her days trekking through old castles!
