Physical Security

The Physical Security department is responsible for developing, installing, maintaining and monitoring the surveillance systems across all school campuses, support buildings and fleet of school buses maintaining comprehensive security strategies that encompass technology to create a safe and secure environment to safeguard students, staff, visitors, and assets across the entire district to help mitigate various threats.
Systems include door access control which is used to regulate entry and exit throughout and prevent unauthorized door access and ensure doors remain closed and secured while also being integrated with building intrusion systems. Security cameras at all campuses and support buildings along with bus security cameras are used to monitor activity and help with police investigations. The Physical Security department also manages the district's two-way mobile radio communication system. This system is vital for enabling instant and reliable communication between teachers, staff and security personnel.
Overall, the Physical Security department collaborates closely with other departments, like network and system engineering, transportation, and law enforcement to ensure an integrated approach to school safety.
