About This Program

Families with students in grades 11th and 12th who would like their student to have access to a faster, higher-performing device with more processing power, memory and overall capability than our standard-issue models, may choose from two approved options available for direct purchase through district-approved vendors. Both models have been reviewed and approved by the Katy ISD Technology Department and are fully compatible with the district's learning platforms. Purchased devices will be enrolled in the district's learning management system, supported under the same guidelines as district-issued devices and filtered through the same internet controls applied to all district Chromebooks. Because the device is parent-purchased, when a student leaves Katy ISD, the district will unenroll it from our management environment so it can be used freely at another school district or or post-secondary institution.

Katy ISD allows students to bring a personally-owned Chromebook for use at school, provided all requirements are agreed to. You must read and review the terms carefully and both the parent/guardian and student must sign the Parent Provided Chromebook Form to acknowledge understanding and agreement.

To locate the Parent Provided Chromebook Form, please access MyKaty Cloud and sign in using your parent ID. In MyKaty Cloud, select the Parent Provided Chromebook tile. 

 

 

 

 

***Please Note: Parents who purchase the HP Fortis Chromebook will need to provide the Serial Number so it can be enrolled in the Katy ISD Google license.
