Morton Ranch High School Teacher Earns State Award for Achievement in the Classroom
KATY, TX [October 11, 2024] – Morton Ranch High School science teacher Philip Gustafson has been named a T.E.A.C.H. (Texas Educators Achieving Classroom Honors) Award winner by the Texas chapter of the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development (ASCD).
The award is given to teachers with less than five years of classroom experience who exhibit innovative and effective classroom teaching practices and who mentor, inspire and challenge students to achieve at high levels.
“I am honored and grateful to be selected for this award, and just knowing that someone nominated me was very touching. I truly appreciate the support and guidance I have received from my campus and district administrators,” said Gustafson. “Without their assistance and support, I could not have been as successful working with my students.”
He will be among this year’s honorees at the Texas ASCD Conference, which will be held this month in Irving, Texas.
ASCD has supported educators and instructional leaders for more than 80 years. Visit www.txascd.org to learn more about the Texas chapter.
