Campus Names Recommended for Katy ISD’s Newest Elementary Schools

KATY, TX [November 18, 2024] – At tonight's Board Work Study meeting, the proposed names for elementary schools #47 and #48, as recommended by two separate naming advisory committees, were presented for Trustees' consideration.

Elementary #47 was recommended to be named after long-serving educators Alfred and Ann Boudny, while Elementary #48 was recommended to be named after retired educators James and Mitzi Cross.

Elementary #47 is located at 7402 Katy Hockley Cut Off Road, in the Elyson area, and Elementary #48 is located at 900 Sunterra Shores, in the Sunterra development. Both schools are located in the district’s northwest quadrant and will open in fall 2025.

Community members are invited to share their input for each recommendation at upcoming Public Forums to be held Wednesday, December 4 at the Katy ISD Education Support Complex (6301 S. Stadium Lane, Katy, TX 77494). The forum for #47 will begin at 5 p.m., and the forum for #48 will begin at 6 p.m. Following the forums, each Naming Advisory Committee will review the community feedback to further inform the recommendation, as needed. Trustees will review the recommendation and all input before taking action at a future meeting.
