The Purchasing Department of Katy Independent School District is responsible for the organization and administration of the District's purchasing and procurement functions in accordance with the authority delegated by the Superintendent, the Board of Trustees, and the Texas Education Agency.

As a branch of the Financial Services Division, Purchasing shares with other fiscal offices the responsibility of safeguarding the public trust and expending District funds in a manner that meets the public purchasing requirements of state, federal, and District procurement regulations. 

What is Purchasing?

Public Purchasing is the process of obtaining goods, services and construction for public purposes according to laws and procedures to provide for the economical expenditure of public funds.
