Katy ISD Folk Life Festival Cancelled
Due to Potential Severe Weather

We regret to inform you that the annual Outdoor Learning Center Folklife Festival, scheduled for this Saturday, April 5, has been canceled due to inclement weather. The safety of our students, families, and staff is our top priority, and given the forecasted conditions, we have made the difficult decision to cancel the event.

Unfortunately, scheduling conflicts prevent us from postponing the festival to a later date this spring. While we are disappointed, we appreciate the community’s understanding and support. We look forward to bringing this beloved tradition back next year and hope you will join us then for a wonderful celebration.

What was life like for the pioneers of early Texas? How did they dress? What skills did they need to survive? Where did the children go to school? What kinds of animals did they own?

The Katy ISD Outdoor Learning Center will be transformed into scenes from the late 1800s, as many demonstrations and activities of pioneer life are recreated.
