Proposed 2027-2028 Attendance Boundary Modification for Elementary #49, and Wolfe and West Memorial Elementary Schools, Mayde Creek Junior High and Cinco Ranch High School

At the June 2026 Regular Board meeting, Trustees were presented with attendance boundary modification (ABM) options to balance enrollment across campuses experiencing significant fluctuations in enrollment. The proposal introduces a new attendance zone for Elementary #49 that will open in Fall 2027, and minor ABM adjustments for Wolfe Elementary, West Memorial Elementary, Mayde Creek Junior High, and Cinco Ranch High School.


What is an Attendance Boundary Modification (ABM)?
Attendance Boundary Modifications (ABMs) are used to help Katy ISD manage student enrollment growth. As enrollment fluctuates across the district, attendance boundaries may be adjusted to balance enrollment among campuses and ensure students have access to high-quality educational facilities and resources.

Where is Elementary #49 located?

Which existing school(s) is/are impacted by the proposed ABM?
The proposed attendance boundary modification would provide enrollment relief for Youngblood Elementary by reassigning designated areas to the new Elementary #49 campus.

Which Land Use Zones are impacted?
The following Land Use Zones, currently assigned to Youngblood Elementary, are proposed to transition to Elementary #49:

LUZ 1D – NW Katy (foreign holdings/ownership) and Jasek Farms (future development)
LUZ 1H – Winward
LUZ 3B – Katy Prairie Estates and potential additional single-family developments
LUZ 3D – North Sunterra (VI) and Summerwell at Sunterra
LUZ 3F – North Sunterra (VII), additional individually owned parcels, and future single-family developments

If approved, the attendance boundary modification would take effect in August 2027 for the 2027–2028 school year. Students residing in the affected Land Use Zones would begin attending Elementary #49 at that time.

High School Adjustment

In order to maintain a consistent feeder pattern for LUZ 42C, all high school students previously zoned to Katy High School in 42C would now be zoned to Taylor High School.
