Katy ISD’s ‘Top 45 Service Awards’ Relived More Than Four Decades of Greatest Hits

KATY, TX [March 31, 2026] – Katy ISD struck a nostalgic chord to honor decades of service with a music-themed celebration and recognize dedicated employees who shaped generations of students and strengthened the community.

Blending humor, storytelling and iconic hits, Katy ISD’s ‘Top 45 Service Awards’ brought hundreds together to celebrate staff members who have served the District for at least 15 years. The evening highlighted the passion, commitment and lasting impact of those who support students, families and campuses across Katy ISD.

“Tonight is about the educators and staff who have dedicated themselves to this District year after year,” Katy ISD Superintendent Ken Gregorski said. “Whether you are in the classroom inspiring students, working behind the scenes to support learning, or ensuring our campuses run safely and efficiently, your contributions are invaluable.”

Among those recognized, Transportation employee Edward Haynes was honored as the District’s longest-serving current staff member, marking an extraordinary 45 years. Tracy LeBlanc, of the West Transportation Center, was celebrated for his 40 years of dedication. Both were applauded by colleagues for their unwavering commitment to safely transporting Katy ISD kids.

The evening’s entertainment featured Joey Watkins, Morton Ranch High School theatre director, who embodied the role of legendary Top 40 DJ Casey Kasem. Through engaging, music-driven videos, Katy ISD employees and retirees shared stories reflecting their years of service and impact on students and the community.

“Tonight’s event is about more than just years of service,” Board President Lance Redmon said. “It’s about recognizing the lasting impact each of you has had on students, your colleagues and the community. Through your commitment and passion, you have helped build a legacy of excellence that continues to grow year after year.”

Katy ISD continues to honor its strong tradition of service, celebrating retirees and employees whose decades of dedication contribute to the District’s legacy of excellence and community pride.

Edward Haynes and Tracy Leblanc were honored for the 45 and 40 years of service respectively.
