Meet the Special Projects Director

Chad Craft | Director of Special Projects

 

 

As Director of the Special Projects division within the maintenance and operations department of Katy ISD, I am the lead for M&O construction projects and component replacement projects associated with bond funding or are derived from the critical needs of a campus or one of the district’s support facilities. With 25+ years of construction management experience, I understand customer service takes leadership, communication and buy-in from all stakeholders involved in an endeavor. My goal with every project is to know that the end users, facility operations personnel, maintenance team and administration trust in my team from the beginning to the end, and after we have turned it over for regular use. Our projects require many levels of coordination between departments and staff, which involves planning and communication.

Our Special Projects division / team includes an associate project manager, a project coordinator, and a secretary. Adrian Valdivia (APM) and Abraham Maldonado (Coordinator) support each other throughout the life of each of our projects, even when they have specific projects assigned to them to lead. Our secretary supports the Director with administering the processes of the division and supports the projects. As Director, I am compelled to serve each member of our team so that they can work effectively to obtain project milestones and succeed at reaching our goal of complete customer service.
