Instructional Materials & Technology Allotment (IMTA)

The Instructional Materials and Technology Allotment (IMTA) can be used to purchase instructional materials; technological equipment; certain related software, systems, and services; and salaries for specific technical support employees, as described in Texas Education Code (TEC), Chapter 31 Instructional Materials and Texas Administrative Code §66.1307.

The Katy ISD curriculum does not rely solely on textbooks but includes the use of a number of resources in the classroom, including online resources, literature libraries, technology, printed materials and many other hands-on learning tools.

November Establish Instructional Materials Committees
December – January Committees review instructional materials and select the top 3–4 selections
February Review committees make recommendations to the District Instructional Materials Allotment Team
April Recommendations presented for Board approval
