Mission
To provide each parent member with educational opportunities that will positively affect the academic achievements of their children so that both parent and child value diverse cultures and become productive and successful citizens.
Title III funding allows the district to operate five Parent Centers that provide services to parents of Katy ISD immigrant and English learner students. The Parent Centers offer adult English classes, a mentoring/volunteering program and community-based guest speakers. The classes and childcare services, for children 18 months through pre-school age, are provided at no cost.
The Parent Centers are located at Hayes, Hutsell, Mayde Creek and Sundown elementary schools. The Centers are open from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM, Monday through Thursday. There are three levels of English instruction; basic, intermediate and advanced. Each class is 1 ½ hours.
An evening program is located at Morton Ranch High School with three levels of English instruction provided from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
If you are not eligible to attend the Parent Center program, please refer to the ESL Classes Referral List for other class options available in the community.
