Automotive and Collision Repair

Overview

The Automotive program teaches students the principles of diagnosing and servicing major automotive systems. Students gain hands-on experience in the repair and maintenance of various vehicle systems and have the opportunity to earn several industry certifications. Students run the Garage at Miller Career and Technology Center where they gain real-world experience running an automotive shop.

Students have the opportunity to earn Industry-Based Certifications. These certifications help students stand out in interviews, gain confidence in a subject area, and provide valuable experience in preparing for the level of rigor required for industry certification exams they may face in the future.

Commercial Drivers License

Overview

The Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) program prepares students for careers in the transportation and logistics industry by teaching the fundamentals of operating commercial motor vehicles safely and efficiently. Students learn vehicle inspection, defensive driving, and federal and state transportation regulations. Through classroom instruction and behind-the-wheel training, students gain the knowledge and skills necessary to earn their Class A Commercial Driver’s License. The program provides hands-on experience with industry equipment and emphasizes responsibility, safety, and professionalism in all aspects of commercial driving.
