Manufacturing Technology

Overview

The Manufacturing Technology program, offered exclusively at Katy High School, provides students with hands-on experience in woodworking, fabrication, and precision manufacturing. Students learn how to safely use a variety of tools and equipment to design and construct custom furniture, cabinetry, and other wood-based projects. Coursework emphasizes craftsmanship, design, project planning, and production techniques used in modern manufacturing and construction industries. Students gain both technical and problem-solving skills while exploring potential careers in carpentry, manufacturing, or industrial design.

Industry Certifications

Students have the opportunity to earn Industry Based Certifications. These certifications help students stand out in interviews, help students gain confidence in a subject area, and give students valuable experience in preparing for the level of rigor required for industry certification exams they may face in the future.

Robotics and Automation

Overview

The Robotics and Automation program teaches students about the setup, continuous improvement, and operations of the manufacturing process. Students receive handson lab experience to gain the needed skills and knowledge to better understand this process. Mechatronics and Mechatronics Engineering, including the use of robotics equipment are utilized to prepare students for careers within the Manufacturing and Engineering fields.
