Teaching and Training

Overview

The Education and Training program prepares students for careers related to teaching, instruction, and creation of instructional and enrichment materials. Students are introduced to the processes for developing curriculum, coordinating educational content, and coaching groups and individuals.

Industry Certifications

Students have the opportunity to earn Industry Based Certifications. These certifications help students stand out in interviews, help students gain confidence in a subject area, and give students valuable experience in preparing for the level of rigor required for industry certification exams they may face in the future.

Teaching and Training Associate Degree

Overview

The Associate of Arts in Teaching program offers students the chance to earn an associate degree within the Education and Training program of study. All courses transfer to the University of Houston-Victoria, where students can complete their Bachelor of Arts in Education in two additional years. Students continuing to UHV will complete observation hours and student teaching in Katy ISD and are guaranteed an interview for a teaching position in Katy ISD upon graduation.
