Taylor High School to Present The Three MusketeersTaylor High School to Present The Three Musketeers

Katy, TX – The Taylor PlayMakers swing into the new season with the swashbuckling sword play of The Three Musketeers. Based Alexandre Dumas' classic novel, the play adapted by Tony-award winning playwright Ken Ludwig is a tale of heroism, treachery, close escapes and above all, honor.

The Three Musketeers tells the story of a brother and sister, D'Artagnan and Sabine, (played by sophomore Aidan Orsargos and junior Kaila Doshi) who set off for Paris in search of adventure. D'Artagnan hopes to join the valiant King's Musketeers. Sabine, meanwhile, is being sent to a convent school, but decides quickly that it's not for her. She'd rather fight by her brother's side. The villainous Cardinal Richelieu (freshman William McClelland) and Milady (junior Roxy Dalmeida) have different plans for the siblings. However, with their new best friends the three Musketeers (senior Sebastian De La Espriella, junior Liam Dunn, and freshman Tolamise Oladapo) by their sides, they save the day for king and country.

Preparation for the production required many of the actors to begin working before school started to learn stage combat techniques from certified fight choreographer H. Russ Brown. When asked what it was like to learn how to swordfight on stage, Sebastian De La Espriella described it as, “like reliving my childhood fantasies." The actors are having a lot of fun on stage and, without a doubt, the audience will too.

Performances take place October 7, 8, and 9 at 7:00 p.m. at the James E. Taylor Performing Arts Center. Visit for ticket information.

Katy ISD Seeks Community Feedback on Strategic PlanKaty ISD Seeks Community Feedback on Strategic Plan

Katy Independent School District is requesting feedback on its five-year strategic plan to help evaluate outcomes and further define objectives the District and its campuses will pursue over the next two years.

This week, parents, students, staff and community members with an email on file with the District were invited to participate in a survey that will provide helpful direction for enhancing programs and services, and sustaining student achievement.

"The success of our strategic plan relies heavily on community involvement, particularly that of parents and staff as we plan for the future of our District," said Dr. Ken Gregorski, Superintendent of Schools. "We exist to serve our students and their families, which is why their feedback is a critical part of the process."

In 2017, Katy ISD launched its first-ever strategic plan, which included goals for personalized learning, digital infrastructure, recruitment and retention, student well-being, and more. Stakeholder groups assess the plan annually to review progress and identify the next steps. The current strategic plan ends in 2022.

All parents, students, employees, and community members are encouraged to participate before the survey closes on September 30.

For more information about the District's strategic plan, visit the KatyISD Strategic Design website.
