INCOMING 6TH GRADERS - Save the Date: WMJH Cub Camp, Tuesday, August 3rd. Join us for our WMJH Cub Camp for our incoming 6th graders. Cub Camp will be held on August 3rd from 9:00am - 11:30am. Upon arrival, students will be placed into groups with which they will spend the morning. We are excited to offer activity rotations as well as spirit wear available for purchase. COUNSELOR CONNECTION: KSAT/ Course Recovery Program:
Parents will be contacted by the grade level counselor to register for summer school, after final grades are submitted.
Report cards will be available on May 28th after 8:00PM to view in HAC.
STATE TESTING RESULTS – Parents will not be receiving a paper copy of their student's state assessment scores. The attachments included in this enews have directions on how and when to access the results online. If you need further guidance, you may access the district testing website.
SCHOOL SUPPLIES - The school supply list for the 2021-2022 school year is attached. We will not be offering pre-packaged supplies for purchase.
SUMMER ENRICHMENT - “School's out for Summer," but that doesn't mean the learning has to stop! Katy ISD has a number of summer enrichment resources available to elementary and secondary students and families on Canvas to keep students' brains engaged. Students can participate in summer reading challenges, brush up on math concepts, explore new and old worlds through Science and History resources, and more!

EXAMS – Exam testing will take place May 24-27. Exams are as follows:
Monday, May 24 –6th and 8th period exam
Tuesday, May 25 – 7th and 2nd period exams
Wednesday, May 26 – 3rd and 1st period exams
Thursday, May 27 – 4th and 5th period exams
LAST DAY OF SCHOOL - The last day of school is May 27 and it is an early dismissal day with the students being released at 1:05pm. No lunch will be served on this day.
LOST AND FOUND – All lost and found items will be on display on the stage this week. Your student is responsible for retrieving any lost item that belongs to them. After May 27th, any remaining items will be donated.
TECHNOLOGY COLLECTION - WMJH is collecting devices (chromebooks, laptops, and iPads) that were checked out for virtual learning beginning April 19th. Please see the attached flyers for information regarding KVA students, Face to Face students, collection procedures, dates, and possible fees for lost/damaged devices. We do have two evening drop off times available – Wednesday, May 26 and Thursday, May 27 from 4:00pm – 7:00pm.
LIBRARY BOOKS – All library books are due at this time. Please make sure you check and return any library books that you have in your possession.
YEARBOOK – There are still a few 2020-21 yearbooks available for sale while supplies last. The cost is $40, cash only. There are also some 2019-2020 yearbooks still available. You can purchase both yearbooks at the bundle price of $75. All purchases will be made in the front office.
KVA STUDENTS – If you have any items that need to be picked up from school, you can come to the front office during school hours to pick up your items. Items will also be available to be picked up on Wednesday, May 26 and Thursday, May 27 from 4:00pm – 7:00pm.
PHYSICAL EXAMINATIONS – If your student plans on participating in athletics for the 2021-2022 school year, the district will be offering several dates and times where you can take care of this. Physical examinations will only be given to KISD student athletes participating in UIL activities in grades 7-12. The UIL physical form will be the only physical form accepted. For more information, see attached flyer.

ATTN 7TH GRADERS – If you are interested in being a Cub Camp Counselor for the 2021-2022 6th grade orientation, make sure to pick up an application in the front office. You must be able to attend the training days on July 27 and August 2 and the orientation day on August 3.
SUMMER MEAL SERVICE – Curbside grab and go meals for four days (breakfast and lunch) that are ready to heat and eat at home may be picked up at MRHS or CRHS on Tuesdays, 4:00-6:00pm in June 1, June 8, June 15, June 22, June 29, July 6, July 13, July 20, and July 27. Parents may pick up meals with proof that they have a child 18 and under in the household. Children do not have to be enrolled in KISD. Check the website for other service locations and times of service in the area.

FROM THE CLINIC: Attention 6th grade Parents: During this school year please review your 6th grader's shot record and take note of what he/she will need before entry into 7th grade. I sent home the first reminder in February. I will be sending letters home again at the end of this school year. The following is a listing of immunization rules that affect all Texas students entering 7th grade:
Tetanus, Diphtheria, Pertussis (Tdap): Tdap is required for all students entering 7th grade if at least 5 years has lapsed since the last dose of a tetanus containing vaccine (DTap, DPT, DT). If 5 years have not elapsed since the last dose of a tetanus containing vaccine at entry into 7th grade, then this dose will become due as soon as the 5 year interval has passed. Td is acceptable if Tdap is medically contraindicated.
Meningococcal Vaccine: One dose is required for all students entering 7th. Must be received on or after 10th birthday.
Additional information regarding these immunizations including exemptions from immunizations can be obtained through the Texas Department of Health website
Shot documentation needs to be stamped or signed by the facility and include the month, day and year the vaccine was given. Computer print outs are valid only if the administering facility has stamped/signed the print out. Please keep a copy for your records when submitting them to the WMJH Clinic. If your child has already received these immunizations please submit them to school clinic, fax to 281- 644-1677, or email to
firstname.lastname@example.org before the end of the school year. If they receive them over the summer you can fax or email the updated records. Schedules will be held at expedition night in August if updated records have not been turned in. You can turn them in that night but will have to turn them in to the school clinic and will be a long line so if you can turn them in before that night it will be beneficial.

Families of students with eligible disabilities can use the on-line accounts to obtain goods and services up to a specific dollar amount that supplement school-based services to help their child make educational progress.
