WoodCreek Elementary Birthday Book Club

Every year, we give our students an opportunity to join the WCE Birthday Book Club.​  A donation allows your child to be recognized on our morning announcements and to select a book which is purchased in their name for the WCE library.  The book will be marked for years to come as donated by your child in memory of their birthday!  Please look for the Birthday Book Club flyer to come home at the beginning of the school year!

 

Texas 2X2 List

The 2x2 Committee develops an annual list of twenty recommended books for children, ages two to grade two.

Texas Bluebonnet  Award

The Texas Bluebonnet Award (TBA) reading program was established in 1979 to encourage Texas children to read more books, explore a variety of current books, develop powers of discrimination, and identify their favorite books.  Current Bluebonnet Award List

T.R.E.K.

Kinder, 1st and 2nd grade students can pick up new TREK forms in the library.  Books MUST be from the WCE Library.  Completed forms need to be signed by parents and returned to the library in teacher library envelopes.  

3rd, 4th and 5th grade students may participate in grade level TREK book clubs throughout the school year.  Before each book club, there will be a sign-up sheet in the library.  Students will then borrow a copy of the book from the library or may choose to purchase a copy and read before the date of the book club.  Students will meet in the library on a specified date to discuss the book, participate in games, and have a chance to win prizes!
