Taylor High School to Present Seussical the Musical High School to Present Seussical the Musical2022-01-07T20:18:39Z

Katy, TX – Your favorite characters from the page…will soon arrive on a very near stage! The Taylor PlayMakers production of Seussical is just around the corner. Seussical is a fantastical, magical, musical extravaganza! Tony winners, Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty have lovingly brought to life all our favorite Dr. Seuss characters, including Horton the Elephant, The Cat in the Hat, Gertrude McFuzz, Amazing Mayzie and a little boy with a big imagination – JoJo. The colorful characters transport us from the Jungle of Nool to the Circus McGurkus to the invisible world of the Whos.

When a young boy has a surprise visit from The Cat in the Hat (play by junior Aidan Orsargos), the Cat spins a magical story of Horton the elephant (sophomore Eduardo Agnese) who discovers a speck of dust that contains the Whos, including JoJo (sophomore Helen Goeke). Young JoJo is sent off to military school for thinking too many "thinks." Horton faces a double challenge: not only must he protect the Whos from a world of naysayers and dangers, but he must also guard an abandoned egg, left in his care by the irresponsible Mayzie La Bird (senior Genevieve St Clair.) Although Horton faces ridicule, danger, kidnapping and a trial, the intrepid Gertrude McFuzz (junior Kaila Doshi) never loses faith in him. Ultimately, the powers of friendship, loyalty, family and community are challenged and emerge triumphant.

Seussical is fun for the whole family! Performances take place January 20, 21, and 22 at 7:00 p.m. at the James E. Taylor Performing Arts Center. General admission tickets are $12. Reserved tickets are $15. Premium Reserved Tickets (including refreshments and an exclusive photo opportunity) are $35. All tickets are available online at .

Contact:
Kelley Hughes

20700 Kingsland Blvd.
Katy, TX 77450
281-237-3653
